KAMP KIA KIMA UPDATE

Things are still going well. The leader reporting via email to the parents says that the weather is not too hot and gets down in the 60s at night. "Gnats and mosquitoes are almost non-existent, however, ticks are plentiful" Luckily, one of the leaders is on a MS Lyme Disease council so she is able to instruct on proper tick removal (or do it herself) and keep an eye out for symptoms for Lyme disease.

Our Troop has the only three "new" Boy Scouts and they are working on programs that will help then meet many requirements for Tenderfoot, Second and First Class. Tomorrow, they will hike up a mountain where they will prepare supper, camp for the night, prepare breakfast then join the rest of the group sometime on Friday. Sounds like fun, huh? Unless, of course, it's like the other hike I joined them on!

Friday will be a "play" day. Kinda. They will be doing group/Troop competitions in things such as: volleyball, basketball, chess, kickball and many more. Out Troop has already won the Ultimate Frisbee team competition! Go Troop 88!!

I can't wait for Austin to get home Saturday and tell us all about it! I hope he's taking pictures (you know, since he conned me into buying him a new camera and all).
