Mangos and Plums and Blueberries and Lemons - Oh My!....and Austin is home

Saturday was a long, hot day - but we had fun. Jake is a hand full when we are at home and can't (for whatever reason) go outside. However, when we are out-and-about, but mostly out, he is so calm...as long as he can run and do what he wants. For this reason - and to visit with MeMe, I've been trying to make it to the Belhaven Market on Saturdays. Jake loves the freedom! And I love the tantrum free moments!

This past Saturday, I decided to be a little smarter than usual and I packed Jake a "lunch" so we could stay at the market a little longer.
Most days, Jake is a great eater - especially if it's something he can feed himself. He loves fresh fruit - I can't think of anything in that category that he has turned down.

(Friday night, after eating almost a whole slice of pizza, he ate a whole mango - and later, at Mamaw and GPH's house, he ate a plum!)

In our lunchbox for Saturday we had plums, peaches, blueberries, yogurt covered raisins, craisins, pepperoni, cheese and a peanut butter sandwich.

Here he is eating his first plum of the day on Saturday. I know you can't see it but it's in his hand. He really wanted to share with the cow!
I think he had a total of 6 plums this weekend!

And here we are waiting on brother to get back from camp. Jake is just waking up from his four hour nap so he was still in the zone.

He had the whole bag of blueberries eaten before the bus pulled up.

(Please overlook the "grocery store feet". I didn't realize we were missing a shoe until we got there.)

A couple of weeks ago I made some homemade lemonade and it was delicious! I made another "jug" of it this past week and made some popsicles with it - they were quite tart!...but still good!

Austin and the rest of the boys finally made it home around 5:30 on Saturday. I can't believe it, but he did not take the first picture!! Oh well, he's home and only got one tic and a few ant bites while he was gone. He said they had alot of fun and the food was great! After talking about the food, I decided I'm going to tag along next year...or maybe not.
