The value of a dollar...well, 50 cents

Because Jake has yet to master the phrase"I'd rather not", he usually gets stuck going where ever I go. That includes garage sales in our neighborhood each Saturday morning. I don't usually buy anything, but it gives us something to do outside while it's still somewhat cool. Okay, maybe it's not cool at all, but at least it's not scorching hot!

Saturday, Jake decided he needed something at the 2nd garage sale we stopped at. He kept saying "guck" and "bocks", so I gave in and handed over my hard earned 50 cents for this....
A shape sorting dump truck!

Jake played with it most of the day Saturday and has continued to do so since then. That's more than I can say about the houseful of toys that cost much more than 50 cents!

So after a very warm trip to the zoo (that I'll post about later), we played with the shape sorting dump guck!

And then it rained.

But it was a nice sun-was-still-out-and-the-wind-was-blowing-just-a-bit kind of rain, so we didn't bother going inside. We just put the guck on the porch and continued playing.

Then Bubbey came out to show us how to splash in the puddles!

And since Bubbey has been taught to complain about the heat, he decided after about 30 minutes that he had had enough and returned to the great indoors and the comfort of the AC. But Jake, who only goes inside when someone drags him by his ears gently picks him up and takes him inside, decided to just head to the porch for more shape sorting.
