Halloween!

Last week was full of Halloween fun!

Tuesday night, Jake got to wear his costume to music class.
It was the only time I've been able to get him to wear the mask,
so I'm glad I snapped a quick picture with my phone.

Cute skeleton, huh?

I really wanted him to be a scare crow this year.
I had his costume all planned out in my head.
I was going to use some old clothes and yarn I already had - it wasn't going to cost me anything!
Aunt Tiffy had the great idea that Allie should be Dorothy.

It was going to be the best!
But he refused....

Thankfully, Allie can't argue with me yet.
She was the cutest Dorothy!

(Yes, I realize now that she looks more like a ballerina, but I was NOT paying $30 for a Dorothy costume - so I made one for about $10)

Wednesday night, we went to a Harvest Festival with some friends.
Jake was ready for the "carnibal", but did not want his picture taken...

After hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled corn, chips and cookies
we set out for some good ole trunk-or-treating.

The kids played soccer,

rode go-karts,
decorated pumpkins,

and listened to music before heading home.

Thursday, we headed out for more fun at Clinton's
Haunting of Old Towne.

We played basketball,

got our faces painted,

got cool tats,

went down a big slide (but Jake went down faster than the not good camera would flash),
went on a hay ride, and

took a picture with Tiger!

Of course, in normal Austin fashion, he was nowhere to be seen both nights.
I guess hanging with the family is just not cool when you're 13.
Sigh......

I'm sure next year, when Jake really understands "chug-a-treating", he won't allow us to only go to six houses. But since both the little people are on their 2nd round of antibiotics we decided to have all "chug-a-treating" D-U-N by sundown when it started getting cool.
