Update, but no pictures

Allie will be here.....soon! We report to the hospital at 5:30 tomorrow morning and will get this party started! If she would like to come on her own today it would not hurt my feelings at all.

I have pictures from Easter but just have not had time to do a post. True - I have not worked since my appointment last Tuesday and was told to "take it easy" so I should have had plenty of time. Well, I've not been taking it as easy as I should have. I've been nesting. Maybe I'll get that Easter post done sometime soon.

Jake is doing great. He talks more and more everyday. We can even have little conversations with him - but they would be so much nicer if he didn't say "huh" after everything we say. We don't think he says it because he doesn't hear/understand us so we try to ignore it and hope that he'll just stop doing it.

Austin is staying busy with school and scouts. He has officially advanced to 1st Class Scout. I think he's only the 2nd boy in his patrol to advance to 1st class since they bridged up last March. I also received an email yesterday that he has been requested as a Den Chief for one of the Cub Scout Dens. He didn't even know he was being considered. This is a sort of "assistant leader" position and the boys are not usually considered until they're 14. So, as a mom, I think this is a pretty big deal.
AND, Austin is now the author/co-author of three different books!! Y'all didn't know we had a famous person in the family did you? Last year, Austin wrote a poem book on his own at school and also helped his class write a "how to" book. Last night, we went to a book signing for his most recent book.
The Arts Council of Clinton helped the 6th grade Science Teachers write a grant proposal and they won. I guess that's the right term?? Anyway, the grant was funded by Entergy and the 6th grade students (that wanted to) submitted drawings/writings about Science to be submitted for the project. There were about 60 students who submitted work. I have pictures of the book signing, but don't have time right now to get any of those posted - but I promise to do so soon.

I guess that's about it for now. And hopefully Miss Allie will be well on her way by this time tomorrow!!
