Since it's been a while.....

I'm sorry it's been so long, but I do have a few other things that keep me busy.

It's been so long that I really don't know where to begin. I guess I'll go youngest to oldest.....

I know I'm not the youngest but since I'm currently carrying the youngest, we'll do a baby (GIRL) update first. No - we have not confirmed that I'm having a girl, but I'm still hoping it's not a another stinky little boy. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE my boys, but a sweet little girl sure would be nice.

Anyway, we're both doing fine. I've had a bit of morning/noon/night sickness and also had a little bug two weeks ago that won us a two-day stay (all expenses NOT paid) in the hospital for severe dehydration. I've not been sick much since and this past Saturday I officially entered my 2nd trimester so hopefully all that will be a thing of the past.

I go to the doctor again tomorrow- nothing too exciting happening this time. But on November 24th we will CONFIRM that it is indeed a GIRL in my belly and not a boat! (That's what Jake says it is)
If it's not a sweet little girl, he's going to the highest bidder on Ebay! Just kidding! (I think)

Now on to Jake.
He. Is. A. Mess. I could just leave it at that... But I won't.

He is into EVERYTHING! And if it doesn't need to be repeated...DO NOT say it where he can hear it! One of his big things now is making his animals "getchew". That's one word that means "get you". He also likes to say he's going to "beachew". Again, one word that means "beat you". I have to take the blame for this one. I (jokingly - and only one time) said, "Jake, I'm gonna beat you" and he keeps repeating it. I don't even know what he was doing when I said it - probably trying to climb into the oven while it was on or swinging from the fan...who knows. But I promise we don't beat our kids (well, not too often) so please don't call DHS unless they promise to only take them for a few days while we get some rest.

We're really getting good at learning his language - well, I am. I still have to interpret quite often for others. I can't wait to see what new word(s) he says. And I love our talks in the car each morning and afternoon. He just has so mush to say. He points out all the "eight-eight weewers" (that's 18-wheelers), he tells me the color of all the cars we pass and you better turn the "moo-gick" (music) on as soon as you get in the car or he tends to get a little upset.

Oh, and if he makes any noises that all little boys (and Terry) find amusing, you better acknowledge it/him the first time he tells you about it or he'll continue telling you about it (rather loudly) until you do - regardless of where you are...Wal-Mart, church, Parent/Teacher Conference... he doesn't care.

Austin. Our oldest. He's just great! Yes - we have to tell him 100 times to do things - things he does on a weekly or even daily basis. But I guess we all went through phases like that. Except me - I was the perfect child. HA!

Anyway, Austin is doing very well in school this year. He had A's and B's on his report card the first six weeks and as of last week at Parent/Teacher Conference he had an A in everything.

Here are some of the things his teachers had to say about him last week:

"I love Austin! He's so funny!"

"Austin is such a great student. My job would be much easier if I had more kids like him."

"Austin is such a fast learner - he just gets it."

You get the point. His teachers really like him, and I don't think they just say those things to make me feel good. I'm sure they've all seen Bambi and have learned that "if you can't say nuthin' nice, don't say nuthin' at all". And they say TV rots your brain....

Anyway.

His Reading teacher told me that if Austin sticks to the path he's on, he's going to be somebody.

Well, he's already somebody to me. Somebody very special. But I agree and I've known it much longer than they have. He's a smart kid! I hope Jake and little peanut follow in his footsteps.

Austin went on a canoeing campout this weekend. Surprisingly, all boats stayed upright. The only thing that ended up in the water on the whole 14 mile trip was Austin's glasses.

No - they were not rescued. I mean, come on guys, you're Boy Scouts! If you can't save a pair of glasses, how are you going to save each other?

I apologize for no pictures. I promise to TRY to have some up soon. We have a pretty busy week ahead with Fall Festivals, school parties (Jake's 1st) and Halloween so we should have some pretty good shots to share.
