15 month check-up...3 weeks late

Jake finally had his 15 month check up yesterday. Here are his stats:

weight - 24.2 pounds (43%)
height - 30 inches (14%)
head - 48 cm / 18.9 inches (71%)

So...he's short, fat, and has lots of brains...just like his Mama! Ha!

Everything went well - Dr. P said he's right on target. He had a finger stick and a shot and didn't flinch or make a sound during either! (Austin - you could take some lessons!)
We will be going to see an ortho dr. in two weeks to look at Jake's feet. If you've ever seen Jake walk, you know that he's very pigeon toed and slightly bow legged. I think it's kinda cute!
It's usually not a big deal and most of the time they grow out of it after walking/bearing weight for several months. Most ortho drs. will not even see a child with this "issue" until they are two. Well, Jake has been walking for a little over six months now and has been pulling up much longer than that. So he has been weight bearing for a long time - and he's got A LOT of weight to bear. Ha! Not only is his "issue" not getting better, but he has started dragging his toes. This is still not a big issue before age two, but it's becoming more consistent and his pedi doesn't want to be the one to make the call as to whether or not we wait or go ahead and do something - so off to the specialist we go.
We will see Dr. Purvis on May 11th. He's the same dr. that treated Austin when he fractured his arm (well, someone fractured it for him - but that's a story for another day).

Take care!
